Please join the PCRF Journal Club on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 12:00 PM (CST) for this month's discussion:

Paramedic Judgement or Trauma Triage Criteria: Which is better?

This month we will discuss a very interesting manuscript that compares the injury characteristics and outcomes of adult patients who were evaluated in a Florida trauma center after activation due to Florida Adult Trauma Triage Criteria (FATTC) vs. paramedic discretion (PD) and to identify predictors of PD. The study asks whether paramedics should simply follow a predefined criteria, or if they should use their training and experience to determine the most appropriate transport destinations for their patients.

During the study period, over 15,000 patients were transported to a trauma center, with 92.2% meeting FATTC and 7.2% at PD.

The Journal Club discussion will begin at 12:00 PM (CST). We look forward to having you join us! Please register now.
