Pediatric patients access the emergency medical services system at a lower rate than adults and often present with high acuity medical conditions. This is a challenge for EMS practitioners who may need to perform interventions and implement protocols they use less frequently. The authors of this study primarily sought to assess if high-fidelity simulation training would lead to better pediatric protocol compliance by paramedics. The secondary aim of the study was to develop a better understanding of the care EMS and emergency departments are providing to pediatric seizure patients.
