Two studies on prehospital ST elevation myocardial infarctions.

September 7, 2011

In this episode Josh, Keith, Marshall, and David discuss two articles relating to prehospital ST elevation myocardial infarctions (STEMI’s).

The first research article talks about EMT-Basics obtaining and transmitting STEMI’s in the field and en route to the hospital. But is this new news or more documentation that reinforces current opinions? In the second part of the discussion, the panel analyzes a study about the impact of prehospital delay and the impact of treatment. This paper has a different view of time delays and how they should be documented.
